Trifle Headband Knitting Pattern

The Trifle Headband was designed as a joyful, scrappy companion to the Trifle Cowl — a quick and colorful knit that turns your leftover yarn into something warm, soft, and unexpectedly delightful. If you’d like to make a matching set, you can find the Trifle Cowl knitting pattern here!

The intention with this design was to create a headband that feels approachable for newer knitters while still holding the interest of seasoned makers. The four row pattern repeat is soothing and rhythmic, the color changes invite play, and the finished twist adds that perfect little flourish without complicated shaping. Worked flat and seamed, this piece builds color like a layered dessert — simple, sweet, and endlessly customizable.

Whether worked in one contrast color for subtle texture, a trio for balance, or a full nine-color spectrum like the sample, this headband is ready to embrace whatever your stash has been saving for the right moment.
